Re: 6502 Signed Math

This is the document I continually turn to for reference on this: http://www.6502.org/tutorials/compare_beyond.html It covers signed stuff, but also >=16-bit stuff too. Though, just for addition and subtraction the signed operations are identical to the unsigned ones. CLC ADC or SEC SBC work the sa...

6502 Signed Math

Look, I'm not really looking to do anything fancy, it's just that I can't figure out how to do 16-bit signed addition/subtraction. I know the whole spiel about two's complement, however I'm lost in the details on how to extend 8-bit signed math to 16-bit land... Could someone please help me? I'm spe...

I'm sure the SNES with a PCE CDROM style attachment could do better.

Re: Aren't you afraid that NES Maker would just bring lazy n

I don't know why you thought it was necessary to do such a heartfelt speech when I'm very sure that NesDev is one of the most noob friendly communities on the internet. Well... I mean there is the thread title + the OP. http://files.slembcke.net/upshot/upshot_crZAN0Xv.png One thread title by a sing...

Re: Aren't you afraid that NES Maker would just bring lazy n

Guys, I know games "are political", I'm just referring to people who shoehorn politics into games to the point of absurdity. You know what I'm talking about. Please, let's unite and be nice to each other like we used to be 10 years ago. We are the world, we are the children  I don't k...

Re: PressStart game (WIP not definitive name)

Man this NESMaker thing is turning out to be pretty cool. Love seeing projects from people who wouldn't be doing a NES game otherwise.

I'd test your game but apparently FCEUX doesn't like mapper 30. I'll see if I can find a compatible emulator later.

Re: Security issue

You seem to be very excited with the whole "NESDev exists!" idea but you seem to miss the point of this forum. Are you stuck on an issue when trying to make something work on the NES or are you not interested in that? Your posts are always related to NESDev itself instead of, well, NES dev.

Re: How do I go about learning how to compose?

Thanks for the replies, everyone! :D Those gave me more motivation than you might think. But I guess I cannot escape having an instrument for this, I do have a synth keyboard but it's not with me at the moment. As soon as I can get it back (and I have the midi cable for it) I'll start this journey t...

Re: thread discipline vs thread dynamism

Simple solution: use threaded instead of flat forums. Then all digressions go into separate sub-threads, being nicely and automatically separated from the original topic. Jesus Christ no. NO. This breaks the nice flow of conversation and makes bigger threads a pain to read. Might as well convert NE...

Re: thread discipline vs thread dynamism

Did you guys finally get that NESDev is the king of off-topic tangents? Took you guys a while. That being said, no need to babysit those threads just because they're veering off course, let users be free to discuss whatever they want on a discussion board , don't kill this forum with excessive pedan...
