Re: Action 53 volume 4

Awesome, thanks. I'll brainstorm some subtitle ideas and pitch them after work. Would love to hear others' suggestions on that as well.

Re: Unnamed Dr.Mario clone

Items eaten by squirrels that have distinct, yet simple, shapes could provide some distinction. Off hand, acorn, seed (sunflower-ish), and berry could be achieved at the resolution. If you wanted to push it thematically, the playfield could be an abstract representation of Nova's digestive tract and...

Re: Action 53 volume 4

Exciting.
By the way, I'm not on PC atm, and phone emulator won't run the ROM. Are Leak or Die and Uwol successfully included?

Re: on voting

Spreadsheet seems like it could be the easiest to setup and to judge, no forms to construct or navigate. A little tricky getting all the data together at the end, but from what I've searched, it seems the following might be feasible: Using Google Sheets, a basic judging spreadsheet could be made and...

Re: on voting

Yeah, honestly, the way I'd like to judge the games would be just typing them into a spreadsheet file. category by row and game by column or vice versa. EDIT: Originality was there pretty much to dissuade people from making simple rip-offs of official releases, but honestly that really isn't importa...

Re: on voting

As for numeric scores, a voting system where a number could be typed in (thereby accepting non-whole number input) would be very helpful, considering the number of collaborations present. For instance, last time around, Lukasz and I both graded each game separately and then I had planned to submit o...

Re: on voting

I like having different, independent categories as suggested.
I think a ranking-based voting system might be beter than assigning scores.

I haven't read in-depth about it, but https://civs.cs.cornell.edu/ might be worth checking out, with a different poll per each category.

Re: Action 53 volume 4

Pending response of other dev members, but already have recieved one positive for the inclusion of Leak or Die (assuming compatability isn't a problem). https://fleity.itch.io/leak-or-die
It's a pretty rad co-op title.

I'll update as I hear back.

Looks like he'd need an exception for alt. palettes too. I assume the white would change?

Re: Cowlitz Gamers' 2nd Adventure

Two bits of news: First, we've recently released the full game digitally on itch.io. Second, the game will be run at Games Done Quick Express this weekend. Schedule available (in your local time) here . Apparently there's an incentive that if enough money gets donated toward it , the runner will nee...

Re: Action 53 volume 4

I'd happily design a new poster as long as we can find a satisfactory printer (finding printers willing to perform that specific fold was difficult). I was very happy with the printer we used for that one, but I think INL might not be local to them anymore.

Re: Action 53 volume 4

I'd still like to handle illustration and design for it, and would like to do title screen after the packaging is complete, to possibly relate the two as was done for vol 3. I can get it done in November as I can start on it next week. Going Bitbox-only would help in preventing the design needs of d...
