Re: NES Mapper guide question

Hey, thanks for that link :) That site definitely has much more details and is more comprehensive. I noticed that the (iNES) mapper just lists the number of it, but doesn't specify which it is. I suppose I can consult the older one for reference, too. But if just using Bootgod's database, which part...

NES Mapper guide question

The entry for Super C has a note beside it in this list: http://tuxnes.sourceforge.net/nesmapper.txt Says that 8k CHR page is missing I'm preparing the use of the Kazzo dumper in the chance that I happen upon an existing prototype for the game. So, I was wondering what that side note means or implie...

Re: Looking for Mash-Mods programmer or Retrode 2

The Mash-Mods programmer was designed only with SNES in mind. Unfortunately, it has much less special chip support than the Retrode 2. On the plus side, it has been flawless in backing up every proto tested with it, whereas the Retrode 2 has some reported failures. I'm willing to bet that it would h...

Re: Looking for Mash-Mods programmer or Retrode 2

Have any luck finding a mash-mods programmer? In my opinion, the mash-mods programmer is the pick for dumping carts, it's way more versatile than the retrode. The only upside to the Super UFO 8 is the 1MBit SRAM on board. Very buggy. The mash-mods programmer is also an excellent device for reverse ...

Re: Looking for Mash-Mods programmer or Retrode 2

I prefer to go with one of the USB-dumpers I mentioned. Although using an EPROM programmer has been suggested; I'd rather not fiddle with it this way.

Re: Looking for Mash-Mods programmer or Retrode 2

Yeah, you hit the nail on the head, koitsu. I've definitely chosen not to go with any of the archaic backup devices; mainly because yeah, I lack the old hardware that these devices were designed to support. I'd say it's a tough call between the Retrode 2 and the Mash-Mods when it comes to prototype ...

Re: Mash-Mods programmer...

Unfortunately, the sd2snes doesn't seem like a good alternative. The price is definitely on the heavy side, but also, I'm pretty sure it doesn't dump games. That's what I'm really looking for; as mentioned, specifically prototypes. I'm going to change the thread title since I've decided to be a bit ...

Looking for Mash-Mods programmer or Retrode 2

Does anyone happen to have a Mash-Mods programmer unit they'd be willing to part with? The owner has long stopped selling it and I'm really looking to get one for my SNES proto needs. I got the Super UFO Pro 8 which turned out to be quite a disappointment, and I got it on recommendation as well. Als...

Re: Kazzo USB rom dumper / dev cart programmer

Mainly looking to see if I can take a prototype cartridge of a video game, attach it to the Kazzo SNES slot and it can dump the data in the cart to the PC.

Re: Kazzo USB rom dumper / dev cart programmer

The kazzo page states that the SNES connectors cannot dump SNES games. Is there anything known about if it can dump SNES prototype cartridges? Someone on another forum claims that it can do so (and better than the Retrode, for that matter). I'd like verification of this, and I'll probably buy one mu...

Re: Kazzo SNES dumping

Maybe I should have posted this in the NES Hardware Flash section? It's a very pressing matter because I need to know with certainty, in order to get some progress on dumping the ROMs of certain prototypes. Kazzo is apparently better than the Retrode for SNES prototype cart ROM dumping, I need to ve...

Kazzo SNES dumping

Hi. I'm planning to buy a Kazzo for ROM dumping. I know that the site states that its SNES connectors aren't for dumping ROMs. However, someone on another forum claims that they are able to dump a lot of their SNES stuff with this. It's worth noting that they're talking about their SNES prototype ga...
