Re: Anyone have the wiring for m27c160 chips

OK, I just made Lufia 2 on two 27c160 chips. The game is 2560KB expanded to 4096KB and then split into two 2048KB files. I lifted pins 4, 12, 13 on mad chip. I wired pin 12 to a22, and pin 13 to a21, left pin 4 hanging. I then soldered pin 1 of mad to eprom 2 pin 13 OE and pin 16 of mad to eprom 1 p...

Re: Bad eproms that verify?

Ok, what makes zero sense is I can order some m27c160 chips today and get them in and they can be identical and work fine. Like I have programmed snes games all last year using these chips and the same adapter boards and same games. Here is a picture, the 2 chips on the left programmed fine, the two...

Re: Bad eproms that verify?

Ok what is going on here people. Look at the date I made this thread. It was exactly 1 year ago. I purchased a batch of chips in December and January they gave me problems. Now the same exact thing happened. I purchased a batch of chips last month "December" and they program bad again just like the ...

No wires. Uses an adapter board I have for m27c160 in which the traces are in the thread under this one.

Re: Anyone have the wiring for m27c160 chips

Just wondering what I am missing here. I figured I would try doing 2 of these chips together but it didn't work lol. I took a file 2.5MB and expanded it to 4MB (Lunar Expand). I then used wasabi to do just a plain 2MB split on the file, nothing else. I then programmed both 2MB parts onto two m27c160...

Re: Putting PAL SNES games on NTSC donors

I figured I would update this in case anyone is following. I did the 50/60 hz mod and it didn't work. The game was just like diagonal wavy lines and the title screen came in wavy and offset for a seconds then went back to the lines. I am assuming it is because I put the game on an NTSC donor that ha...

Re: Putting PAL SNES games on NTSC donors

I have tested the rom in Higan and it works properly. Was Higan configured for NTSC emulation? It runs PAL games in PAL mode unless you specify otherwise. It was not configured and honestly I went through everything and seen nothing that shows me to run in a different mode. It is Higan v094 64 bit....

Re: Putting PAL SNES games on NTSC donors

So I was wondering if the problem with this game not showing stuff properly can be a 50hz problem. I have tested the rom in Higan and it works properly. In the menu selection at the beginning (worms is the game) the menu highlights fine in emulator but on real hardware, the pal rom put on an ntsc do...

Re: Genesis repros don't work (Red Screen)

Don't fix the checksum on byte swap. Take a clean rom and open in the programmer, hit byte swap in the programmer and then write. That is all you need to do. You are over thinking it and causing yourself problems.

Bah, Just checked and the rom chips don't match up anyhow. I'll just sell it as defective and call it a day.

FX GSU-1 vs GSU-2 for Yoshi's Island.

Ok so I have a Yoshi's island that has garbled graphics and I kind of want to fix it. If the main chip is bad then there is no fix I guess. I had suggestions that it may be the fx chip is bad. I have reflowed the fx and main chips and it yielded the same results. The glitches are not constantly iden...

Re: Shop with good blank NES cartridge shells

And my local retrogame store has common NES titles at $10 a pop, so… That's insane you must live in CA or something. In NY every game store near me has bulk bins for $5. Most of the time I sell lots on ebay they get purchased by CA. Even on ebay and sites like JJgames and such they have tons of tit...

Re: Shop with good blank NES cartridge shells

I know destroying games is frowned upon but you can't get any closer to original than... original. Fact is you can get so many nes games for $5 and under and with a hair dryer spend 30 seconds removing the label and another 30 seconds cleaning the adhesive off with goo gone and then clean with a spo...

Re: Genesis reproduction problems.

Despite the logo, that is not Microchip. It's Mitsumi, and the part # is MM1026. The other part is made by Rohm and its part number is BA6162. I thought that logo was a little off but it was all I could come up with. Thanks for the info. I don't think those reset chips have anything to do w/the pro...
