Re: M-Tee's Graphics Projects (Isolation Spoilers)

Looks good as always.

I'd imagine this chapter has the player entering a rougher part of town. I get that impression from the palette shift and the fact that the sidewalk doesn't seem to be particularly well maintained.

I would think the real concern in demotion is potential beginners not finding easy access to good info and thus, us getting less homebrews overall.

Re: Vigilante [port SMS]

It freezes also on my EverDrive in my NES Toploader.

Is there perhaps a reason that the ROM is currently PAL exclusive?

The first background displays, but I also get two garbage tiles in the status bar. No buttons do anything.

Re: The wiki is not mobile-friendly

This may go without saying, but to balance, I'd be sure to include a "view desktop version" option because it seems some experienced users won't want to browse the mobile version.

Should it/can it, remember that choice?

which is something I've thought before and I feel is probably a pretty common sentiment among people in our age group. Is 17 in that age group? I didn't really think so when I was writing it, but surely those who support/oppose the proliferation of social media come in all age groups. Probabl...

Re: James Rolfe's reaction to Ghostbusters trailer creates d

I have a theory about it though which may help explain why it is happening. I'm really becoming of the opinion that social media is inherently toxic. I was thinking about what you've said, which is something I've thought before and I feel is probably a pretty common sentiment among people in our ag...

Re: Help with playing .nsf music in a homebrew project.

Mind if I suggest a quick change to ASM6? I don't think you'd have to modify anything other than your headers and we can help you set those up. (It looks like they need to be modified anyway) NESASM has a lot of bizarre quirks and it's not really preferred around here. It's a bit easier to get help ...

Re: Character Diversity in *your/our/modern* NES Games

I'm sorry. Me too. Anyways. I love this forum and the people here, but I'm seeing a lot of things that sadden me in this thread. I see a lot of insult and a lot of needlessly heated discussion. Honestly, I don't think there's anything to be gained by discussing the contents of this thread much furt...

Re: Character Diversity in *your/our/modern* NES Games

Not that this addresses the problem of your name being in someone else's signature, but I think signatures are a stupid feature for forums to have I don't mind when they're a link to someone's URL. Sometimes I'll click those to see more of someone's work, but anything bigger than that gets a bit an...

Re: Character Diversity in *your/our/modern* NES Games

Oh please... Oh I'm not going to stop making my game, but I've had plenty enough public opinions on the matter. I've got quite a bit of heavy shit that I deal with on a daily basis. This is a hobby that I do because I enjoy it, because it reconnects me with my childhood, because the challeng...

Re: Character Diversity in *your/our/modern* NES Games

If the question was ...Run 'n' Gun... No. I don't really want to talk about my game. The question was simply about the decisions involved in designing player selection and whether or not these decisions are influenced when having varying race between the characters. I was hoping to steer the topic ...

Re: Character Diversity in *your/our/modern* NES Games

I don't really think this is an argument worth pursuing, honestly. :P I really didn't think it was an argument. I just posed a question. The default for an NES game is to assign the second-billed character to the second player. I don't entirely understand the sentiment. But I would like to retract ...

Re: Character Diversity in *your/our/modern* NES Games

WTF do you mean by "extra effort of selection"? I didn't say anything about the quantity of effort, but if there's a screen that asks what character you want, and you pick one, that's making a decision. I'm just saying, don't you think that would lead to expectations of the characters having differ...
