DMC question (mainly directed to blargg)

When using non-looped mode, writing 1 to $4013 and enabling the DMC will play a 17 bytes sample. But when using looping sample, will it loop 17 or 16 bytes?

I'd suggest using interleaved data for this. So instead of having an array of pointers structured like this: .db LowAddress, HighAddress, LowAddress2, HighAddress2, etc. You'd have it structured like: HighAdds: .db HighAddress, HighAddress2, HighAddress3, etc. LowAdds: .db LowAddress, LowAddress2, ...

Thoughts on doing a (NES) music engine...

I thought about a music engine where commands read from music data are rather idexes in a pointer-to-subroutines table ( no, I know there's no indirect jsr, but using this technique will just do the job ). Of course using 8-bit indexes will limit the number of pointers to 128, yet it's a lot. There ...

Re: NES Tutorial

The section on 6502 opcodes really comes in handy. Personally, I find this one slightly more organized and well formatted. Yeah I use that one, mainly for a quick reference, but for precisions i use this manual http://users.telenet.be/kim1-6502/6502/proman.html . This manual was designed for the KI...

Except in hockey, any other sports have a great sportive spirit. People doesn't hate each other. Basket ball is a great example, where you can see people sometimes pushing a guy in the opposite team and help them stand up.

Both the NTSC and PAL period lookup tables are set up such that if you have a power of 2 samples per period of the waveform, such as 64 samples per period, the pitches will line up very close to these notes: C, D, E, F, G, A, B, C, D, F, G, A, C, E, G, C For example: If you have 64 samples per peri...

I hope that will not confuse you... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Musical_tuning#Systems_for_the_twelve-note_chromatic_scale BUT only 2 scaling systems are really used in western music, which are "Equal Temperament" (mostly, probably because of the popularity of piano in our culture) and "Just intona...

Strange reply, Bregalad, because everyone I know — including myself — say that XP is far more stable than anything (from Microsoft), except Vista which is for the moment a bit heavy, and Win2K as the worst OS ever. Bah i don't know win 2K, but I never saw a bluescreen on XP (except those by a specia...

I hope that I won't go off-topic with this, but I made a formula to convert frequencies to notes and vice-versa. check it on 2A03.org forum : http://2a03.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=584

It's true no one is a perfect poster. Though there are some posters that are so awful they just have to stop posting entirely. I was really close to being one of those posters. I rarely post cause I often come off as a jerk so I figured it's better for everyone if I keep quiet. :D I don't mind jarg...

Here's a non-cutoff version of Kirby Adventure : http://akumunsf.good-evil.net/K/ Note: right-click and save as (save as nsf) when you see the file, or you get garbage text in your browser... that's a bug of the website.
