Re: C compiler requests

What are your preferred mappers or memory layouts? Presumably you want to offer bundled samples. As DRW, I don't find that so useful, compatibility with the current de-facto leader would be better. It's common to place code and assets in banks manually, and to pick the memory layout by the game's n...

Re: compile for spc700 with bass

Remember that bass changed syntax many times over development. An arch file or sample code from years ago may not work with today's bass. It was a PITA to find a version able to compile Shiru's GSS source.

Re: NES to SNES adapter

All buttons are available in a straight-through adapter. In a remapping one like Raphnet's, they are not.

Re: NES to SNES adapter

I don't think anyone sells those, Raphnet's product is a remapping one instead of straight-through. Making one yourself is a very simple solder job using two extension cables. If you're going to make a game using such, you can pretty easily order 500 of such cables from China and sell/bundle them yo...

I had a thought. Instead of changing all the 6502/NES code to SNES... keep the 6502 exactly the same, and build an interpreter that parses every 6502 instruction like some kind of emulator.
I seem to recall this already exists elsewhere on this forum

Re: A newbie's code evaluation

1. ca65 has macros that automatically use a branch or a comparison-jump depending on the distance. "jne" instead of "bne", etc.
2. You don't have to use all caps everywhere.
3. You're doing everything manually. If that's intentional, then fine, but I would recommend using neslib.

Or it's an intentional screw-you to the repro makers profiting off others' work.

Re: Do colored borders bother you?

Such borders do bother me, hence I always put the darkest color as the bg color. It's not always black, but dark blue etc work decently.

Re: Need guidance with nes to snes.

Why couldn't he cheat? If the high 64 sprites and the extended large-negx table are properly cleared during boot, at runtime it should work to just use the low 64 sprites, NES style. I don't think the SNES has decay?

Wrong subforum? The compo requires A53 compatibility, but this requires mapper 30.

Re: Music speed weirdness using Famitone2's text2data.exe

If it's truly better, would be nice to have a standalone command line text2data replacement (without all the other parts of a tracker ;)). Though being in C# is a minus.
