Hi guys, not sure if its the right place/forum.
I got my hands on these 3 cartridges and I would like to know if its worth anything.
The one in the middle its written "Nintendo Development cartridge"
The 2 others its written "Nintendo: development of the third part"
Thanks :)

On the one hand, we generally don't like enabling people who profiteer off scarce objects ... at least unless they made it themselves.

On the other hand, we do like learning what's in random old hardware.

People can resell games, but when I can't get Super Smash Bros Melee for under $60, that's bullshit. I am very curious about these carts though; did you ever try to play them? I'd have though a development cartridge would look something like Campus Challenge where it's open with rom sockets. is there a port or anything on these?

They probably look more like this:

You can't see it because I'm a terrible photographer, but the only chip in a socket is the CIC.

Have these cartridges been dumped yet?

In general, everyone switched to SMT at the same time we switched to 3V logic. So there's very few, if any, 3V DIP ROMs, and thus no sockets.

They do make QFP/SOP/&c ZIF sockets, but they're very expensive, and keeping them in order would be a confusing mess if the contemporary technology were eight 2MiB ROMs as shown in Joe's picture.

I'm actually somewhat surprised the EEPROM isn't also.

Joe, you're local to me. I've recently made an N64 dumper if you (still have/ever had) that cart and don't know what's on it.

They dont have ports and I dont own a n64 devkit so I can't try them. I tried on my normal n64 and nothing happened.
They come from Ubisoft Montreal.

I don't have it anymore, but when I did have it, I dumped it with a GameShark. It's a prototype version of Madden NFL 99.

They might still have interesting data on them, even if they don't do anything when you put them in your N64.

The value these have will mostly come from if there is anything interesting flashed on them. It sounds like you've tried, so it's hard to say.

If you'd like to get rid of one, let me know.
