Make link to wiki more prominent?

It's easy to miss the wiki on http://nesdev.com/, and there's no indication that it has lots of up-to-date information. Would probably be a good idea to make it more prominent and add something "for the most up-to-date information, see the wiki at...", so that most visitors don't go digging through old docs instead.

At some point in the past, people were considering having it be a redirect to http://wiki.nesdev.com/w/index.php/Nesdev so that we could maintain it.

There's also something to be said for moving the images in, since it's a little goofy that we've got both http://wiki.nesdev.com/w/index.php/File:Neswires.jpg and http://nesdev.com/Ntd_8bit.jpg now

Just to prove that it probably isn't an artificial problem: It took me a good while before I realized the wiki was the place to go (and a while before I even realized it existed). I figured it was just scattered bits of random information, like most technical wikis you find.

I notice those images are similar, but not identical. The one on the wiki has additional labels and some existing labels are different.

Direct image links: Ntd_8bit.jpg, Neswires.jpg. Open the images in two different tabs, set your browser zoom to 50% or so, then flip between the tabs to see the differences.

On the nesdev.com main page, Ntd_8bit.jpg is linked to as:
  • Family Computer schematic by Nintendo? File provided by Ubaldo Prones.
In the wiki, Neswires.jpg is referred to as
  • NES wiring diagram: 1.
  • RF Famicom wiring diagram: 1, 2
  • this wiring diagram: 1, 2, 3.

It was called the NES wiring diagram, but it is clearly not the NES wiring diagram; it is the schematic for the RF Famicom. I am the one that changed it in those two instances. ("RF Famicom" is a retronym.)

Yeah, "nes"wires.jpg is my fault. Got a bit lazy when uploading it to the wiki and didn't check as carefully as I should have. :?

Back on topic though - who administers the nesdev.com site?

The primary administrator is WhoaMan, while koitsu and I have shell access as well.

Could one of you make the wiki more noticeable? Should I talk to WhoaMan? Something along the lines of
The docs linked below are old and may contain inaccurate information. For the most up-to-date information, see the wiki.
would be nice.

If you haven't clicked on the wiki link in a while, it ends up being light green on that orange background. That color combination is completely unreadable. :?

(To be fair, I am mildly colorblind. Maybe it looks fine to you?)

I agree that the sage-green-on-sandy-orange is pretty hard to pick out.

I've addressed the colour complaint.
