How to split file for UNROM repro?

Post by Icitte »

I am planning on a repro of duck tales 2 with wayne gretzky donnor card

Actually NEScartDB tell me that there is a ROM for the PRG but the CHR is SRAM

So, I think that I only need to change the PRG Chip but, when I split my ROM with NES mapper program they normally do 2 files

will the PRG file work for this kind of repro?

I am sorry for the questions but I am a beginner and since english is not my language I have some difficulty to understand everthin i am ready...

thanks

Yes, for any game that uses CHR-RAM you only need to replace the PRG-ROM chip. In this case, iNES ROM files are just the PRG-ROM data preceded by the 16-byte header, there's no CHR section at all.

So you REALLY shouldn't be making a repro of an expensive game. That's sketchy as balls, with a capital 'B'.

So... you only make repros of cheap games? Why?

There's absolutely nothing wrong with it, unless he turns around one day and decides to sell it without expressly indicating to potential buyers that is a reproduction and not an original.

Still find it hard to believe that Ducktales 2 is going for $200-$400 on eBay right now... so ridiculous. Bunch of artificially inflated hype-train nonsense.

Complete ones go for the crazy money, loose ones are expensive as well.
