2019 competition?
Hi!
As I don't see a post launching the 2019 edition of the NESdev competition, I'm wondering: will it happen in 2019? Or is the event cancelled this year?
I really hope it will take place this year too!

It's happening. Feel free to make a game. Same rules. I'm not making a game.

Wonderful, thanks for the info!
I'd try to make something then
And I'd follow your tutorials (already started), as it'll be my first NES work!

Re: 2019 competition?
I had hoped to have my game done by the end of the year, but I think that's increasingly unlikely as that gets closer and closer. I'm torn on whether to submit whatever I do get done, or to wait until it's completely finished before revealing it to the world.

Check out Brick Breaker aka Brix Battle from the 2016 competition: https://forums.nesdev.com/viewtopic.php ... 11&start=0gravelstudios wrote:I had hoped to have my game done by the end of the year, but I think that's increasingly unlikely as that gets closer and closer. While I still like my game it's something that was supposed to be much more (and with design mistakes that would have probably been fixed given more time), I kick myself every time about rushing its release. Don't be afraid of NOT releasing your game if you feel it isn't up to what you wanted to actually do with it, released game forever bad etc. etc.

I believe it's Jan 31/Feb 1, but I've bugged Brad to get confirmation.

Re: 2019 competition?
I initially was thinking we would keep it the same, but how would everyone feel about pushing it forward another month?
Re: 2019 competition?
As I'm learning how the NES works with my entry, an extra month to make it happen would obviously be appreciated !NESHomebrew wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2019 2:18 pm I initially was thinking we would keep it the same, but how would everyone feel about pushing it forward another month?

Re: 2019 competition?
I feel like it wouldn't be a competition without a Mojon entry
Re: 2019 competition?
Thanks. I hope you have fun with the game when it's ready
