Building an MMC3 dev cart

Post by Tom »

So I want to build an MMC3 dev cart. My understanding is that I need to get a licensed MMC3 game, desolder the ROM chips, and replace them with EPROMs. Now I'm thinking I should get either a TKROM or TSROM board because I should be able to support any MMC3 game that doesn't use 4-screen mirroring or VRAM then. Is that right? Is there something else I should consider when deciding which game to build my cart out of?

Check the Kevin Horton's mappers page for more information.
I think the only difference is that TKROM has a slot for a battery on the WRAM, and TSROM doesn't. (also TSROM is much more common that TKROM)
Useless, lumbering half-wits don't scare us.
